WatchGuard Primer is Oak Ridge 7001 Primer offered under the WatchGuard private-label brand. Oak Ridge Foam & Coating Systems manufactures polyurea coatings, roof membranes, floor systems, and spray foam; 7001 is the primer that ties all of it to the real world, where substrates are rarely clean bare steel.
It gets its own identity because it earns one. A multi-surface primer is not an accessory to a coating line — on restoration work it is the component the entire job depends on, and it is often the only reason the project is economically viable rather than a tear-off.
It is also a product plenty of contractors want to buy on its own. If you spray somebody else's topcoat and just need a primer that will bond it to a weathered TPO roof, that is a legitimate order and we will fill it.
Working With Us
For Applicators and Roofing Contractors
Carrying one multi-surface primer instead of four substrate-specific ones is a real operational simplification. Less inventory on the truck, no wrong-primer mistakes on a mixed-substrate detail, and one product to train a crew on rather than a decision tree.
Where we add the most value is the substrate question itself. Weathered membranes, unidentified previous coatings, galvanized in unknown condition — send us the situation and we will tell you what to test and how to read the result. We would much rather help you qualify a roof before you bid it than diagnose a failure after.
If the topcoat is not ours, that is fine. Tell us what you are spraying over the primer and we will tell you honestly whether the combination makes sense.
For Dealers and Distributors
Primer is a high-turn, low-drama item. Every coating job that is not on freshly blasted steel needs some, the quantities are predictable, and nobody argues about the price of primer when the alternative is a failed roof.
A multi-surface product also simplifies your shelf. Instead of stocking four primers to cover the substrates your customers encounter, you stock one and it covers all of them — which means fewer SKUs, less dead inventory, and fewer counter conversations that end in "we do not have the one you need."
